Portable Shooting Bench
Tripod Design
The DOA Tripod is built from high-grade industrial steel for one simple reason: the lighter alternatives have a bad habit of flexing under recoil and sending your point of impact on a little vacation with every shot. The design has held up for 20+ years with only minor tweaks along the way, which is either a testament to getting it right the first time or proof that we hate redesigning things. It’s rated for 500 pounds or more, so a 400-pound shooter plus all their gear is basically a light workout. At roughly 35 pounds it’s no featherweight, but then neither is the rifle you’re trusting it with. Every steel component gets a full powder-coat finish so it can shrug off the apocalypse—or at least several hard seasons in the field. Fully extended it stands 37 inches; folded it drops to 32 inches and collapses into a package compact enough that you might almost forget it’s still a 35-pound steel tripod.
The seat arm rotates on an adjustable locking collar and gives you about 25 inches of height adjustment on the tripod post, so you can finally set the bench to your preferred posture instead of performing contortionist warm-ups. It ships with our standard 13 × 2.5-inch round HD furniture-foam seat—dense enough that you can sit through an entire range day without the familiar numbness that turns “fun afternoon” into “how much longer until I can stand again.” The seat spins a full 360 degrees, letting you track targets or make adjustments without the dramatic stand-up-and-rearrange performance.
One of the better decisions we made (and we’re not above saying so) is that the seat, strut, and tabletop can all rotate independently while you stay planted in the chair. Whether you’re zeroing or hunting, you can change angles on the fly instead of tearing the whole setup down every time the target decides to move. Efficiency, it turns out, looks a lot like not having to stand up.
Top it off
Tabletop Designs
We now offer 3 unique Tabletop designs to satisfy the needs of all shooters:
- Our Original DOA Tabletop is 30″ Wide and 43″ Long, with a choice for a Left or Right Handed Cut-Out for the Chest/Body. This shape provides and encourages a formal, competitive, and tactical shooting position, that works equally well from a .22LR to a .50BMG. Thru the years we have tested a few differently shaped designs, and have chosen the Standard DOA LH/RH Tabletop to fit the shooting needs of Experts, Military, LEO, Hunters, Target Shooters, and Enthusiasts; anyone who wants or needs to improve their comfort, accuracy, and repeatability on target.
- For our CenterFire Tabletop, we Symmetrically Widened the surface of our Original Standard DOA Table Top by about 6 inches, and made a curved chest pocket 9″ deep, giving Right and Left Handed shooters Equal Access to the entire CenterFire Tabletop for all the same firearms enjoyed by our Original Standard DOA Table Top. Thru the years we’ve had many requests for an Ambidextrous Tabletop that everyone can share and easily take turns shooting on. Prairie Dog hunters in particular will enjoy the ease of sweeping a field of view with this new design
- For Extreme Long Range shooters, we Extended the surface of our Original DOA Table Top by about 5 inches giving more room for longer guns like long barreled Creedmoor, .338 Lapua and .50BMG. Thru the years we’ve had many requests for a longer table and have come up with the ELR to fit the needs of longer distance shooters, and have added a rotating ELR-Strut Support system underneath to provide even more stability for longer heavier guns and bigger sandbags
- All 3 Tabletops are made out of a 14 Ply Maple or Birch, were designed to weigh about the same, and vary from 32-38 pounds depending on the wood density. Each tabletop is unique in its natural wood appearance and texture.
